Tyla Stars in H&M’s Spring 2025 Campaign

Tyla isn’t just pushing the envelope when it comes to music. The “PUSH 2 START” singer-songwriter is also making waves in the fashion space, from her recent tweed look at the fall/winter 2025 Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week to consistently captivating on-stage outfits that reflect her infectious energy. If there’s anyone who masters the art of seductive, rock-‘n’-roll chic, feminine style, it’s her.
Her sister, Sydney Seethal, has also garnered attention in the fashion domain, having graced the runway in South Africa for the L’Oréal Paris “Walk Your Worth” campaign in 2024. Together, this iconic sister duo is featured as the faces of the H&M Spring campaign, set to launch on March 20, alongside other influential women, including FKA Twigs and Caroline Polachek.
The spring collection intertwines ’70s bohemia, ’90s edge, and contemporary femininity for easygoing looks that make the perfect bold additions to your spring wardrobe. Vintage-inspired pieces are reimagined for today—think voluminous blouses, cascading ruffles, and edgy leather styles. The collection showcases intricate textural and heirloom-worthy details to fawn over and features a color palette of spring-inspired hues, including pale yellows, earthy tones, and neutral shades.
Head-turning pieces to shop include intricately crocheted dresses, mini-skirts with braided embellishments, and laser-cut skirts. The launch also features an array of unique accessories, including soft, slouchy shoulder bags, grunge-chic biker boots, and antique-style jewelry.
Ahead of the launch—marked by an H&M fashion and culture festival in sunny Los Angeles on April 9—I caught up with the Grammy-winning artist for an exclusive interview to talk about her favorite items from the collection, sisterhood, and what’s next for the pair in the world of fashion.
Are there any stand-out pieces in this collection that you’re most excited for people to wear this spring?
I really like the long necklaces; they add so much to an outfit with an open chest.
The collection features plenty of edgy rock’n’roll staples. Are there any personal style icons who inspire you?
My mom has always been a style icon to me, even down to my hair!
What do festival and spring fashion mean to you, and how do you think this campaign embodies that?
I love feeling and looking fresh—especially during those times. The colors and how lightweight everything is [in this collection] give that off for sure.
Being born and raised in Johannesburg, do you feel your heritage has any influence on your personal style?
Yeah, definitely. I love mixing Western and African fashion together. My mom and Gran both make jewelry that I still wear in some of my outfits. I love glam that I can ground with some organic pieces.
What has it been like working with your sister? Do you have a similar or opposing style?
We can never take anything seriously, so it’s always a good time. Sometimes our style overlaps, but she’s mainly into cozy oversized clothing.
