Gap Is Back—With a Sleek New Take on Wardrobe Essentials

When it comes to high-quality staples, Gap has always been the unanimous favorite. Still, the brand continues to raise the bar—this time, with an elevated take on wardrobe essentials in the first-ever GapStudio collection. “GapStudio is where craftsmanship, creativity and culture come together,” Zac Posen, Gap Inc. executive vice president and creative director, shares in a statement. “Inside Gap’s New York HQ, we’ve built a creative studio where I’ve designed looks for the red carpet, and where we’ll continue to collaborate with visionary talent in the future.”

The first collection is a reflection of those experiences, from the corset-trimmed tank tops that elevate casual moments to the sculptural dresses that add a cool sense of ease to special occasions.

The lineup also includes precise tailoring, like the structured blazer and cropped shirting, which both add elegance to everyday dressing.

And the collection wouldn’t be complete without some reliable denim pieces. On the roster you’ll find high-waisted jeans adorned with oversized buttons, denim trench coats, and mini skirts.

Fittingly, the campaign has the It girls to match: Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, and Alex Consani star in the accompanying photos. Together, you can see them serve up super model realness in an assortment of designs from the new drop, lensed by legendary fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti.

From red carpet-inspired craftsmanship to elevated everyday wear, GapStudio proves essentials don’t have to be boring. Prices are reasonable too—starting at $78 and peaking at $248 for a trench coat. If you’ve been sleeping on Gap, set your alarms now—the entire collection will be available to shop on April 3.
